What happens above the limit
Nothing is switched off. Calls above your included volume are billed per call — €0.02 on Starter, €0.01 on Premium. You get an email at 80 % and at 100 % of your quota, so an upgrade stays a decision and never becomes a surprise. On the free tier calls are rejected at the limit (429) rather than billed.
Line items per invoice
Every plan caps the number of invoice line items: 25 on Free, 100 on Starter, 1,000 on Premium, individually agreed on Enterprise. Above that the API rejects the request with HTTP 400 and the code TOO_MANY_LINE_ITEMS and names the counted number and the limit — no invoice is produced and the call is not billed. The service's technical ceiling is 15,000 line items per invoice; only an Enterprise contract reaches it. The cap applies when generating, on both validate routes and when converting, not when parsing.

What you generate is what counts: one generated invoice is one API call. A plain validation generates nothing and does not count as a generation — it still needs a valid key.
